Alumni Spotlight

James V. Cassella '76 B.A.
Years after graduating from UNH, an unexpected phone call sent James Cassella in a new direction. A group of friends from Yale wanted to start a biotech company, so he moved back to Connecticut to join the highly successful startup Neurogen. "I realized that not many people knew much about the brain, and I felt that I might actually be able to make a contribution to the science, so I kept getting in deeper and deeper," he says. Support Our Military & Veteran Students

Please consider making a donation to honor the nearly 200 veteran students pursuing their dreams at the University of New Haven. Your gift to the Veteran Student Emergency Fund will help provide the support our veteran students need to complete their degrees. This is a new program at UNH and this fund provides an immediate loan to our veterans who are waiting for their VA benefits checks. Too often, our veteran students are forced to withdraw from school because they do not receive their VA benefits in time. This loan program allows our veterans to stay in school. When the Veteran student repays the money they receive from the Veteran Student Emergency Fund, that student continues to be eligible for their VA benefits and the loan money goes back into the fund to help other Veteran students.

Please show your thanks this Veteran's Day. Click here to give back to UNH Veteran students. You can also mail your check payable to the University of New Haven to the:

Office of Advancement
300 Boston Post Road
West Haven, CT 06516

Please put "Veteran Student Emergency Fund" in the memo section. Thank you!
