30th Anniversary Alumni Scholarship Ball
The University will host the 30th Anniversary Alumni Scholarship Ball on Saturday, April 20, in the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center. This signature event is the University's primary scholarship fundraising initiative. Register online or click here for more information.
Donations Sought for Auction

Department of Athletics Alumni Weekend
The Department of Athletics Alumni Weekend begins with the 30th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, April 12. The 2013 class includes seven individuals representing five sports. The weekend continues through Saturday afternoon with campus tours, football practice, various games and a BBQ reception. Learn more and register today

UNH Identified as a "Kindness University"
UNH has been named a “Kindness University” by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation. The distinction comes in recognition of senior Lindsay Bugryn’s work with the organization. Bugryn, who was recently crowned Miss University of New Haven, is promoting the work of the organization on campus as part of her pageant platform. See the full list of universities
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Offered to UNH Alumni
UNH has partnered with the Institute of Industrial Engineers to offer Six Sigma Green Belt certification. The objective of Six Sigma is to deliver world-class performance, reliability and value to the end customer. Topics covered will include philosophy, projects, variation, histograms, process capability and more. Deadline to register is Monday, April 15. Learn more and register
Engineering Innovation Challenge
Students from the Tagliatela College of Engineering will participate in an Innovation Challenge hosted by Villanova University April 13-14. This fast-paced team competition requires students to be constantly on the move and feverishly working on their presentations and prototypes. Students are given an ambiguous topic and must develop an idea, examine the technical and business feasibility, develop a top-level design, produce a basic business plan and create a simple prototype. UNH to Host "MBA for a Day" Program
The College of Business will host an "MBA for a Day" program to give prospective graduate students a taste of what an MBA from UNH can deliver. The session will take place in downtown New Haven on Saturday, April 13, and will feature active participation and demonstrate what a student would experience in an actual MBA class at UNH. Creative Arts Exhibit Features Work of Veterans and UNH Students
They gathered together over poems, songs, paintings, photography and improvisational drama, a group of war veterans and UNH students, bridging not only the mile that separates the VA Connecticut Healthcare System's West Haven campus from the University but also their age differences and life experiences. They are part of "Exit 43," a collaborative project that provides veterans with the opportunity to serve as artistic mentors in the community while raising public awareness about veterans’ issues. Each of the students and the veterans is creating a new work of art based on the experience. The artwork will be featured in "Exit 43 – An Exhibition" at the West Haven Veterans’ Museum and Learning Center from April 16 through May 4. Read more about this collaboration
Jessica Santos Foundation Fundraiser 2013
The annual "Remembering Jessica" fundraiser dinner will take place on Friday, April 26. There will be two seatings: the first from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and the second from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. Catered by UNH hospitality and tourism management students, this event is open to all. Chris Dewart '04 EMBA
Chris Dewart '04 EMBA was recently promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer at Konica Minolta Canada. Previously, he served as president of the Central Region of Konica Minolta Business Solutions in Chicago. Konica, a leader in advanced imaging and networking technologies, is a $300 million business covering 12 states and 21 sales and service brances for parent Konica Minolta Holdings, a $10 billion corporation based in Japan. The University of New Haven is a private, top-tier comprehensive institution recognized as a national leader in experiential education.
