480 New Members Join Alumni Community
The more than 45,000 UNH alumni welcomed 154 undergraduate and 326 graduate students to their family during Winter Commencement on Saturday, January 15. Bartels Family Honored at Winter Commencement

February 12: Chargers to Retire Coach Vieira's No. 20
The Athletic Department will retire Charger baseball legend and former coach Frank “Porky” Vieira’s No. 20 on Wednesday, February 12, during halftime of the men's basketball game. Vieira’s No. 20 is only the second number in the history of UNH Athletics to be retired, joining Gary Liberatore’s No. 45. Read more about Coach Vieira.
February 17: Fairfield County Alumni Cocktails and Networking

April 16: 28th Annual Alumni Scholarship Ball
Mark your calendar for the 28th Annual Alumni Scholarship Ball featuring a 20th anniversary celebration of the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, on Saturday, April 16, on the University Campus. The evening’s events include the Distinguished Alumni Awards, dinner, dancing and live music, including silent and live auctions. Chargers Presented 2010 NE-10 Championship Trophy
The Chargers football team was awarded the 2010 Northeast-10 Conference Championship trophy this past November. Read more about the presentation made to the team and Coach Pete Rossomando, who was named Coach of the Year by the conference.

International English Honor Society Established
The Department of English faculty members and UNH students have established a local chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor Society. Retired MasterCard Chief Marketing Officer Named Executive Dean of New College of Business and Professional Studies
Lawrence P. Flanagan, ’80 B.S., has been appointed as the executive dean of the newly created College of Business and Professional Studies. Tagliatela College of Engineering News

Power Systems Laboratory Dedicated
The University dedicated its new Power Systems Laboratory in the Tagliatela College of Engineering on January 14. With support from Northeast Utilities and additional support from United Illuminating Co., the lab will serve as a major training center for workers in the power industry in southern Connecticut. A leader in experiential education, the University of New Haven provides its students with a valuable combination of solid liberal arts and real-world, hands-on professional training. Founded in 1920, UNH is a private comprehensive university with an 80-acre main campus. The University has an enrollment of nearly 6,000; approximately 1,700 graduate students and more than 4,000 undergraduates, 70 percent of whom reside in university housing. The University offers more than 80 undergraduate degrees and more than 25 graduate degrees through the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, the Tagliatela College of Engineering, and University College. University of New Haven students study abroad through a variety of distinctive programs.
