More than 850 Join UNH Alumni Community
The UNH Alumni Association welcomed more than 850 members to the alumni community at the 87th Commencement exercises held Sunday, May 16, 2010. Dr. Henry C. Lee delivered the commencement address and received an honorary doctorate of laws degree. John Aaron Frey ’44 A.S., chairman of the Board at H.M.P. Industries (formerly Hershey Metal Products), received an honorary doctorate of engineering degree. Howard Lee, founder and vice chairman of the World Journal, the largest Chinese-language newspaper in North America, received an honorary doctorate of business administration degree. UNH Launches Virtual Tour App for iPhone

$500K Scholarship in Memory of Dr. Joseph DeLeeuw '78 B.S.
When most individuals are considering retirement, Dr. Joseph DeLeeuw embarked on a second career. He earned a bachelor’s degree from UNH at the age of 60 followed by a medical degree from Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic and eventually opened a clinic, which accepted all patients, even the penniless. Dr. DeLeeuw passed away in 2007 at the age of 89, and through his estate gifted UNH a $500,000 endowed scholarship. Read more about Dr. DeLeeuw and his Endowed Scholarship.

Nutrition and Dietetics Students Honored
This spring, 10 students were initiated into UNH’s inaugural membership class of Kappa Omicron Nu, the national honor society for students in human sciences. Read more about these students who met the requirements of being in the top 25 percent of their class, maintaining at least a 3.7 GPA and completing 45 semester hours to be eligible for Kappa Omicron Nu.

President Obama Appoints UNH Alumnus as U.S. Marshal
UNH alumnus and Clinton police Chief Joseph P. Faughnan '77 B.S. has been nominated for U.S. marshal for the District of Connecticut by President Barack Obama. Read more about Faughnan’s appointment.
