Online Auction Bidding Has Begun — Join in the Fun

March 26: Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet
The UNH Department of Athletics will hold their 27th Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m. at Race Brook Country Club. The Class of 2010 includes women's basketball forward Tiesha Grace, football players Mike Horton and Greg Ortman, softball coach Joe Musante, football and men's lacrosse player John Raba, baseball standout Brian Stone, and three-sport athlete Kate Whalen. April 15: An Evening with ESPN's Chris Berman
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Institute for Sport Management, noted ESPN sportscaster Chris Berman will participate in an extended sports dialogue with ESPN producer and UNH alumnus Craig Mortali '84 B.S. on Thursday, April 15, at 7 p.m. in the Charger Gymnasium located on the University's North Campus. This event is open to the public, but seating is limited.

Support Scholarships
Purchase your tickets to the University’s signature event of the year, the 27th Annual Alumni Scholarship Ball to be held on Saturday, April 17, in the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center. This year’s theme, “Give Locally, Impact Globally,” emphasizes the fact that when you support UNH students in their quest for a college education, you also help the many people they will assist throughout their lives. We are honored to have Petra Construction Corp. as a lead sponsor. The evening includes dinner, dancing and a live and silent auction. Take a look at photos from past Scholarship Balls.
April 23-25: Second Annual Black & Latino Affinity Weekend
The Second Annual Black and Latino Affinity Weekend is scheduled for April 23-25 on campus. The weekend will feature a networking reception, fashion show, stroll show, the Sankofa Ball and more. Award Winning Poet to Read from Debut Collection
The UNH English Department and Elm City Review will host a reading by Afro-Chicano poet John Murillo from his first full-length collection of poems "Up Jump the Boogie." The event , which is free and open to the public, will be held Tuesday, March 30, at 5:30 p.m. in the Moulton Lounge in Bartels Hall, the campus center.

Culinary Institute of America President, UNH Alumnus,
to Speak on Campus
President of the Culinary Institute of America and UNH alumnus L. Timothy Ryan, Ph.D. will speak on "The Future of Food" at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, in the Alumni Lounge in Bartels Hall, the campus center. Ryan earned a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management from UNH in 1994 and an E.M.B.A. degree in 1996. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is part of the Spring 2010 Robert Alvine Professional Enrichment Program.

The War on Counterfeit Drugs
Peter Gabriele, co-founder and technical director for ARmark Authentication Technologies, LLC, will hold a free lecture on Wednesday, March 24, at 12:15 p.m. in The Schumann Auditorium, B120, of the TCOE. Gabriele will discuss the use of physical-chemical identifiers in the pharmaceutical industry by the FDA as counterfeiting control measure. Read more about the lecture.

New Look to Athletics Website
The University of New Haven Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the launch of its new website, which showcases the accomplishments of UNH student-athletes and coaches on the field of play, in the classroom and in the community. The website, which features photo galleries, text message alerts, e-newsletters and videos, was developed over the last six months. Check out the Chargers new home on the world wide web.
