Be Part of This Exciting and Worthwhile Chance to
Support UNH Scholarships

In these uncertain economic times, the traditional sources of education funding for students – grants and college loans – are drying up. Bright young minds need education, and they need help getting it.

On Saturday, April 4, the University of New Haven Alumni Association will host its 26th Annual Alumni Scholarship Ball at the University’s David A. Beckerman Recreation Center to raise scholarship funds for UNH students. Over the past quarter century, alumni and friends of UNH have raised nearly $1.9 million for scholarships, helping many students pursue their educational goals.

Students who have shown that they have everything it takes to succeed – everything but the funds – look to the Scholarship Ball and the monies it raises to make a difference in their lives, and thereby in the life of the nation in which they live.

In addition to raising scholarship money, this year’s ball will honor four distinguished alumni: Kenneth W. Biermacher ’76 B.S., Heidi S. Douglas ’82 M.S., Joel S. Douglas ’82 M.S. and John R. Gehring ’52 A.S. These four alumni will join the more than 65 distinguished alumni who have been honored over the past 25 years.

The 2009 gala also reintroduces the venerable President’s Award, given to honor a University supporter who has gone above and beyond the call to help University students succeed. This year's award will be presented to Isabella E. Dodds.
